A pair of vases dipped in black to roughly half their height, at 15 by 30 cm and 16 by 20. The dip line is the piece — it is drawn by the wood and the pigment rather than by a hand, so it wavers, and it wavers differently on the two vases. Above the line the mango grain is left bare and pale; below it the black is dense enough to read as solid. Sold singly or as the pair — the height difference is the point.

No two pieces are ever the same — and that's the point. Every tree yields its own colour, grain, and character, meaning the piece you receive may vary slightly in tone or form from the image shown. These differences are not imperfections. They are proof that a craftsman's hands shaped real wood from a real tree — and that your piece exists nowhere else on earth.
