Candle Rock Holder
ColourLight
A rock form rather than a turned one — irregular, between 13 and 16 cm across and 8 to 11 high, with a single well cut into the top for a candle. Because the form is not turned, dimensions are a range rather than a number: no two are the same size, and the flat that lets it sit steady is found on each piece individually. Made in three finishes, and the finish decides what it does in a room. Left pale, the outside keeps whatever shape the block arrived with. In warm oak the stain settles into the irregular surface unevenly — deeper in the recesses, lighter on the high points — and candlelight off it throws a far warmer cast than it does on bare wood. Taken dark it flattens to a silhouette at a distance and gives all that detail back only once a flame is sitting in the well.
No two pieces are ever the same — and that's the point. Every tree yields its own colour, grain, and character, meaning the piece you receive may vary slightly in tone or form from the image shown. These differences are not imperfections. They are proof that a craftsman's hands shaped real wood from a real tree — and that your piece exists nowhere else on earth.
