Everything below the neck is cut with overlapping scoops, small flat facets running in loose diagonal rows up a long body that narrows towards the top. The neck is left smooth and flares slightly at the lip, which makes the carving read as deliberate rather than rough. The brown stain sits lighter on the ridges between the cuts, so the pattern holds from across a room.
