The smallest of the exposed-wood bowls at 15 by 10 cm and 5 deep — a size that ends up holding rings, garlic, a single serving of nuts, or nothing. The bark edge and the open grain are left as they came off the tree, unsealed and unstained. Small pieces show wood character more sharply than large ones do, simply because there is less surface to average it out, so expect a strong swing of tone from one to the next.
